With over eight million downloads of the original Core Fighters version, Koei Tecmo expects many players to try Last Round free before committing to the full roster. Free Characters at Launch

Core Fighters includes four fighters: Kasumi, Marie Rose, Honoka, and NiCO. Kasumi offers balanced ninja gameplay ideal for learning fundamentals. Honoka teaches throw-heavy pressure. NiCO is beginner-friendly with unique gadgets. Marie Rose focuses on stun setups with a steeper learning curve despite her popularity.

Individual Character Unlock Keys grant permanent access to one fighter. Bundle keys offer better value for multiple characters. Standard Edition Comparison

The paid standard edition includes all 29 characters immediately: 24 base roster plus Nyotengu, Phase 4, Momiji, Rachel, and Tamaki (previously DLC in original DOA6). Five new costumes for Kasumi, Ayane, Marie Rose, Honoka, and NiCO are also included. Mai Shiranui and Kula Diamond remain separate paid DLC for both editions.

Is Core Fighters Worth Playing?

Yes, for learning the game and enjoying online modes without upfront cost. Photo Mode alone provides creative value. Competitive players may eventually want the full roster for matchup variety in ranked play. Start with our beginner guide and platform controls regardless of edition.
